Remodelling yellow gold engagement ring and wedding ring
My client got in touch enquiring to have her engagement ring and wedding band designed and handmade. Maddy would loved to have worn her late mums engagement ring and wedding ring, but they just weren’t Maddy’s style. There was so much sentimental attachment to these rings that a remodel was a perfect, beautiful solution. After our initial meeting I was able to come up with several ideas and designs, one of which my client just loved.
The existing wedding band was made from 22ct yellow gold, while the engagement ring was 18ct yellow gold. When the two gold’s were melted and milled together it kept the beautiful rich 22ct colour because the original wedding band had been so wide there was alot more 22ct gold.

I used the diamond from the existing engagement ring to make it the centre of attention once again in Maddy’s remodelled engagement ring.

Maddy’s remodelled wedding ring was now more modern and sat perfectly next to her remodelled engagement ring.
Having the two rings made at the same time ensured the colour of both remodelled rings would be the same, it also meant I wouldn’t need to ‘borrow’ Maddy’s engagement ring at a later date for a 'wedding ring fitting'.
Maddy loved the transformation and couldn’t wait to show them off!

My client got in touch wanting to know if the band of their Gold Signet Ring could be rebuilt/ repaired using the gold from a wedding band they had.
I was more than delighted to say my answer was yes!
The signet ring was very sentimental to their daughter but obviously un-wearable as it was.
Her parents want the remodelled signet ring to be a surprise for their daughter’s birthday.
My clients were over joyed with the out come.

Judith came to me with some very special personal jewellery that meant a lot to her.
All the stones in the various rings told a story of past and present and Judith wanted to be able to wear them as a ring all together.
Judith also said she was really tough on her jewellery so wanted it to withstand being worn everyday.
The idea was to also incorporate a brand new stone into this design. It was to be a beautiful yellow sapphire.
As the brief was wide with no strict design my job was to narrow down what Judith actually wanted from her new ring which she wouldn’t know until she saw it designed. With this in mind I was able to sketch Judith several very different ideas.
After chatting through my sketches, designs and ideas with Judith she was able to choose the design that she loved and that would suit her life style.
I loved getting several princess cut yellow sapphires in to show Judith so she could choose the exact colour she wanted.
As it happened one was perfect as it was her husbands favourite colour from the pantone chart!
Judith chose the design where i had designed her ring to be made up of three separate rings. this meant they could be stacked together in different ways and not always be worn all together giving Judith maximum versatility.
Judith’s beautiful Blue Sapphires and Green Emerald look stunning while the new yellow princess cut Sapphire makes a perfect addition set in the rich yellow gold.

When Sally came to me she had an old style oval sapphire and diamond cluster ring.
The ring itself was not to my clients taste but she loved and wanted to keep the blue sapphire and wondered if I could use the stone in a new design incorporating the tiny diamonds too.
Sally also had some unused ‘bits’ of gold so these could be added into the ‘melt’. This would mean that I wouldn’t have to add as much gold to the new design bringing the price down but also using up all the scrap gold in Sally’s jewellery box.
The ring needed to be chunky as it was to sit next to another of Sally’s favourite rings. My client wanted a timeless piece with would show off this beautiful large oval sapphire.
After showing Sally my ideas and designs she was able to choose her perfect design.
I think the sapphire looks stunning set into yellow gold. The tiny diamonds that once surrounded the sapphire have now been set down into the shoulders of the ring as if they have been sprinkled there, while the hammered finish catches the light giving this ring a natural feel.

Lucy got in touch hoping that two of her rings could be remodeled.
One of the rings was her late grandmothers. Lucy told me that years ago her grandmother had had hers rings remodeled into the ring it was today, she said it must have been at least 40 years ago. To have this ring remodelled and redesigned that many years ago was an amazing quite unique thing to have done and not very common.
Lucy still wanted to keep the feel and the essence of this design but make it more modern and wearable.
Lucy's grandmothers ring was made up using a lot of gold and it was this gold that was to make up Lucy's engagement ring and wedding ring she also wanted to have remodelled.
What ever gold was left was then going to be added to to make the modernised version of her grandmothers Jade ring.

Making engagement and wedding ring out of one engagement ring
Lucy got in touch hoping that two of her rings could be remodeled.
One of her rings was in fact her engagement ring which hadn't been worn for very long before she felt she had chosen the wrong design and also the wrong colour metal.

Lucy really wanted a simple elegant setting for her princess cut diamond with no other diamonds. Her thoughts were to use the small diamonds from the shoulders of her current engagement ring in her wedding band.
The rest was now down to me!
Lucy's grandmothers Jade and diamond ring was made using a lot of yellow gold and it was this gold that I was going to use to make Lucy's engagement ring and wedding ring. What ever gold was left was then going to be added to to make the modernised version of her grandmothers Jade ring.

Once the diamonds had been taken out of Alison’s eternity ring, I was able to assess their colour and clarity enabling me to source a match for the extra diamonds that were needed.
The 18ct white gold was then melted, milled, shaped and soldered to make this beautiful ring ready to set both the existing and new diamonds.
Alison was extremely happy with the finished piece. She now has her dream ring.

She wanted to use the Gold and Diamonds from her existing Wedding Ring and Diamond Set Eternity Ring.
In our initial meeting we discussed the need to add a few more diamonds to get the ring Alison really wanted.

After Evelyn had seen her daughters ring redesign and remodel she felt it would be a shame to let the left over old cut diamonds just sit a draw.
Once I had spoken with Evelyn I came up with several designs. Some of which were charm beads and some of rings. Evelyn’s favourite design was a ring so I set to work.
Eveyln paid extra for the wide silver band but I was able to off set this cost against the left over gold.

The design was very elegant with soft vine swirls wrapping around each of the four old cut diamonds.
The beautiful yellow gold vines make this piece stand out against the wide silver band.
